Isis-WICCE to contribute in advancing the Rights and Basic needs of Women Living with HIV/AIDS in Uganda
Isis-WICCE will in the next one year contribute to the efforts of addressing the rights  and the basic needs  of women living with HIV/AIDS  in Uganda. The project is being undertaken in collaboration with FID-Uganda, a women’s  organization that provides legal aid to women. It is being carried out in the districts of Bugiri and Kitgum under  the support by Open Society Foundation. [+]
 
Journeying through Post Conflict Settings: A personal experience

Women is Soroti Being briefed on the importance of telling their stories.

From 6th -14th August 2009, I took a field trip to Soroti, Lira, Kitgum, Gulu and Arua on training women how to document their stories using a digital camera and tape recorder under the Gender Based Violence and HIV/AIDS grant project. The trip which stretched over the largest Northern part of Uganda that has experienced conflict for the last 23 years was a humbling experience for me. Excitement and fear consumed me as the planned day of travel approached although I put on a brave face.  [+]

 
Empowering Local community groups to document their Stories

From 31st July to 17th August 2009, Isis-WICCE undertook a 15 days self documentation training with grassroots women groups in Northern and North Eastern Uganda. The training aimed at empowering grassroots women groups of people living with HIV/AIDS with skills in self documentation to document their transformation journeys after the intervention by Isis-WICCE and Urgent Action Fund.[+]

 
Isis-WICCE's Medical Intervention in Liberia Put smiles on women's faces
 The  short term medical intervention in the two counties of Maryland and Grand Kru in Liberia restored hope to many women who had given up on life. Like in any post war situation, Liberia still has immense health problems that need holistic management to ensure impact on the health of the population, particularly that of women war survivors.
