Isis-Women International Cross Cultural Exchange (Isis-WICCE) will hold the 2009/2010 International Exchange Programme Institute (IEPI)in Kathmadu, Nepal from November 2009 under the theme “Human Rights, Human Security and Participation: Documenting Women’s Experiences of Armed Conflict”. According to the call for participation from Isis-WICCE, the Institute will bring together 44 women from Anglo and Franco-phone speaking countries in Asia, Africa and Europe that are in armed and post conflict situations. From 29th-10th June 2009, over 90 people of Maryland and Grand Kru counties in Liberia will receive free surgical services that will mainly aim at addressing sexual and reproductive health complications as a result of the experiences of the 1989-2003 Liberian war. [+] |

Harper, Liberia, 9th June 2009 Fourteen rural hospitals and health centres from Maryland and Grand Kru Counties in Liberia have received medical drugs and equipment as part of an over reaching medical intervention that is being spearheaded by Isis-WICCE in collaboration with Women in Peace Building Network (WIPNET) and the Liberian ministries of Gender and Development and Health and Welfare. Over Ninety survivors of the 1989-2003 Liberian war will from 29th June –10th July, 2009 receive free surgical attention at the J.J Dossen hospital in Harper, Maryland and at the Rally Time Hospital in Grand Kru County. The surgical operations are part of a short term medical intervention, an initiative of Isis-Women’s International Cross Cultural Exchange (Isis-WICCE) in collaboration with Women in Peace building Network (WIPNET) and the Liberian Ministries of Gender and Development and Health and Social Welfare. The surgical operations will be conducted by combined teams of Doctors from Uganda and Liberia. [+]

Harper, Liberia, 1st June 2009. Isis-WICCE, an international women’s organisation based in Uganda that is currently in Liberia for a short term medical intervention has started distributing medical drugs and equipment to selected health centres in Maryland and Grand Kru counties. The drugs and equipment will be distributed to 14 selected health centres in the two counties where the screening and medication of beneficiaries will take place. Some of the screened beneficiaries will also benefit from free surgical services at JJ Dossen hospital in Harper, Maryland County and Rally Time hospital in Grand Kru County. [+] |
